Scary Fast
We discussed the announcements from Apple’s recent “Scary Fast” event including:
- The new M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max Apple Silicon chips.
- New 24 inch iMac models with M3 chips.
- New 14 and 16 inch MacBook Pros with M3 series chips.
DavidB recommended the most recent episode of the Upgrade podcast where Jason Snell and Myke Hurley talk about the new M3 Macs based on Jason’s hands-on experience.
The “Scary Fast” keynote was shot entirely on the iPhone 15 Pro. We watched Apple’s impressive video showing how this was done.

Apple News
We discussed recent Apple news including:
- Subscription prices for Apple TV+, Apple News+ and Apple Arcade are increasing.
- The new cheaper Apple Pencil with USB-C.
- Apple adds 6TB and 12TB iCloud storage tiers.
- Apple no longer offer human support on social media (they suggest using their website instead).
- iOS 17 allows account balance and deposits to be viewed in Apple Wallet for select UK banks.
- Apple has issued advice for buying a used iPhone.
